About Mid Coast Construction Academy
Midcoast Construction Academy is a partnership program between location businesses, community leaders, local school districts, and Association of Builders and Contractors Mid Coast Chapter. These organizations identified a growing need in the region for skilled plumbers and electricians. In an effort to bring skilled workers into this in-demand industry, they developed the MCA Apprenticeship Program.
This 4-year program combines classroom instruction and on-the-job training to prepare students for careers in the plumbing and electrical fields. High school students can enter the program as juniors through their local high schools and upon graduation will enter the adult program with up to 2 years of the 4-year program completed. Adults can enter the program at the beginning of each session in the Fall.

In the Mid Coast Region, there is a critical shortage of skilled labor that is projected to grow over the next decade. Trained plumbers and electricians enjoy one of the most stable employment futures in the workforce and licensed plumbers and electricians experience a current average starting salary of $23 per hour in our area. Mid Coast Construction Academy is proud to partner with local businesses, school districts, and individuals as we address this issue through education and career development.
